Benefits of

Clear Aligners

Many patients avoid orthodontic treatment because they don’t want to deal with the stigma or the stressful, highly visible treatment of traditional braces. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, so patients don’t need to worry about chunky metal or rubber bands. Additionally, this removable option allows patients to eat and drink whatever they want throughout their treatment. Depending on your case, treatment typically takes about a year, making this a faster way to a straight, beautiful smile.

Invisalign Tips and Advice

Get the Most Out of Your Treatment

Whether you’re considering Invisalign, or you’re in the middle of treatment, here are a few ways to ensure your best results:

  • Wear your aligners for at least 22 hours per day
  • Only take your aligners out to eat, drink, brush, and floss
  • Rinse your aligners with warm water every night
  • Always brush your teeth before putting your aligners back in

And don’t hesitate to call our office if you ever have any questions about your treatment or how to care for your aligners!

Know your options

Is Invisalign Cheaper than braces?

Invisalign treatment usually costs about the same as treatment with braces. You can expect to budget about the same amount of money for either option. Occasionally, Invisalign may be a little bit more affordable, but this really depends on your orthodontic condition and the extent of your tooth and bite alignment problems.

If you want an accurate estimate for your Invisalign treatment, come to Kissing Camels Family Dentistry for a consultation with Dr. Boals. After he examines your mouth, Dr. Boals can determine if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign or braces, and give you a cost estimate for each treatment.

Understanding the Basics

What Orthodontic Issues Can Invisalign Treat?

Invisalign is a versatile method of smile correction, and it can be used to treat most minor-to-moderate orthodontic issues. A few of the problems that are commonly treated with Invisalign include:

  • Gaps between your teeth
  • Crooked and crowded teeth
  • Tooth overjet (horizontal overlap between upper, lower teeth)

Some bite issues including underbites, overbites, crossbites and open bites
It’s important to note, however, that Invisalign is more limited in its ability to treat serious problems with your teeth alignment and jaw position. If you have extremely crooked and crowded teeth or major bite problems, it may not be the best choice for you. Traditional braces may be required for these severe orthodontic issues.

To find out if you are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment based on your orthodontic needs, it’s best to contact Kissing Camels Family Dentistry for a consultation with Dr. Cody Boals. Dr. Boals can examine your mouth, and determine if orthodontic treatment with Invisalign is right for you.

Versatile Treatment

Can I Get Invisalign for Just My Top or Bottom Teeth?

Yes, it is possible to get Invisalign for just your top or bottom teeth. If your upper teeth are straight, for example, you can just get Invisalign on your bottom teeth. However, this is usually not recommended for a few reasons.

It’s unlikely that you only need one of your rows of teeth to be straightened. Even if your upper or lower teeth look straight and you don’t think they need Invisalign, they will likely need to be moved to adjust your bite once your opposing arch of teeth has been straightened. It usually does not make much sense to only correct one arch of teeth.

In addition, you won’t get a big discount on Invisalign if you only treat one arch of your teeth. You may think that Invisalign would cost 50% less if you’re only treating half of your mouth, but this is not the case. Building aligners for either your upper or lower arch of teeth usually takes just as much time as it would for both arches of teeth, so you’d pay a similar rate.

In some very rare cases, Dr. Cody Boals may recommend that you have Invisalign on just your upper or bottom teeth, but this is extremely uncommon. It’s usually a good idea to simply treat both your upper arch and lower arch of teeth at the same time.
